The following issues are known problems with Mouseless Browsing: - Show on demand only allows to open one link in new tab
If the "Show on demand" option is activated, currently only one link could be opened in a new tab / window. In orginal page the ids stay visible but can not be activated. - Tab change with Ctrl (Alt on Linux) + <Number> doesn't work any more
This is not a bug but a feature! In fact MLB overwrites this default behavior to enable the usage of ids within editable fields (Ctrl+<number>) or to open a link in a new tab (Alt + <number>). But of course MLB still supports the change of tabs by the keyboard. MLB add special ids beginning with "0"... to every tab. So for changing tabs just press "01", "02", "03" etc.. From version 0.5.2 these ids will also be displayed in the tab title which can be disabled. Of course it is also possible switch back to the default behavior of FF. Just open the configuration dialog of MLB and choose "None" as the modifiers for enabling ids also within editable fields and to open links in a new tab. Read more about this in the Short Tutorial . - On some pages clickable elements have no ids
First please install the newest version 0.5.2 as it supports much more clickable elements than the versions before. But even this version will not be able to detect all clickable elements. The reason for this is that it's simply technically impossible for MLB to detect those clickable elements which become clickable via the use of JavaScript. Another reason why ids are sometimes missing is that it is impossible to to forsee every kind of web page creation style. E.g. on Apple.com the head menu is composed of a row of links which are overlayed with an image. The ids are added to the links but invisble as the image hides them. Nevertheless please report missing ids under http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list so I can have a look a it. - Some pages get heavily disarranged when displaying the ids.
I tried my very best to reduce the impact on the page layout as far as possible. But again, due to the huge variety of page layouts it is not possible avoid heavy disarrangements in every case. Often it is simply to less space for the ids resulting in unintended line breaks or worse in an overlap of elements. - Incompatibility with FireGesture
In some cases Mouseless Browsing seams not to work properly in combination with FireGesture, even I could not reproduce this with my configurations. The effect is that links are only selected but not triggered so you have to press enter additionally to follow the link. Disabling FireGesture solves the problem. - Duplicate Ids
On some pages (e.g. Yahoo Mail) the duplicate ids appear (see issue 135 on http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list). This will be fixed in the next version (0.5.3) - Ids are not working when the keyboard focus is within a plug-in (like a PDF or video)
This is not a problem of MLB but one of Firefox. While the keyboard focus is within a plug-in like a PDF viewer or a Flash player showing a video Firefox processes none of the keyboard strokes. For details see the discussion under https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78414
Mac OS specific issues: - Alt modifier doesn't work
According issue #27 the Alt modifier isn't working correctly on Mac OS. As I currently have no Mac OS distribution which I could run in a virtual machine, unfortunately I'am not be able to debug this bug.
