Version 0.5.2.2

  • Fix for empty configuration dialog with FF 3.6

Version 0.5.2.1

This version includes the following bugfixes (see http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list for details):

  • #18: Pressing Ctrl+<number> to switch tabs unexpectedly selects link.
  • #31: Only takes 2 Alt + $Number strokes, when "show id only on demand" option is on
  • #76: Frame focus broken
  • #82: Missing Links on some pages
  • #86: Content is not focused when using Tab IDs
  • #87: Tab IDs do not work when ids disabled for page
  • #92: Scrolling shortcuts not working within frames
  • #98: Switching to tab 10/20/30 ect. doesn't work
  • #101: Focus is on wrong frame
  • #106: Tab-selection ids don't work if numbers aren't in self-defined id character set
  • #108: Floating frame labels
  • #109: Duplicate Ids on history back

Version 0.5.2

New Features and bugfixes:

  • Tab local scope for "Toggling id visibility" and "Toggling exclusive use of numpad" by shortcut, new shortcut for disabling MLB completely
So far toggling the visibility of the ids and the exclusive use of numpad via their corresponding shortcuts had an global effect on all tabs. This leads to the problem that in case of  ids were shown only on demand only one link could be oppend per page. Therefore I decided to restrict the effect of these shortcuts to the active tab. To allow to disable MLB with one keystroke I added a new config parameter and shortcut to do this. With this new option, MLB is disabled with all its shortcuts except the shortcut for enabling MLB again. The default shortcut for disable/enable MLB is Alt+Decimal (on the numpad).
  • Support for dynamic web applications like Gmail, Facebook  etc.; new shortcut configuration option for updating ids
By default dynamically added content to a webpage leads to an update of all ids. This behaviour can be deactivated via the configuration. As the automatic update doesn't work in rare cases, I've alos added a new shortcut to update all ids (by default this is "Alt+Add").
  • Support for more "clickable " elements
With this version also embedded media and other clickable elements get an id. Nevertheless there will be still some elements left which won't get an id though they are "clickable". This has a technical reason as elements can become "clickable" dynamically via JavaScript which is not detectable by MLB.
  • Display of tab ids
By default ids for tabs are now displayed in squared brackets prepended the tab title. This can be switch off eithe via the tab context menu or on the layout tab of the MLB configuration dialog.
  • Option to instantly trigger an action as soon as the id is unique
There is a new option to execute the action as soon as the entered id is unique. E.g. if you enter "10" and there is no id "100" the action is triggered immediately, provided that the option is enabled.
Attention: This option of course prevents the use of all postfix keys! The option is therefore disabled by default.
  • Option to hide image links which have an identical text link
If enabled ids for pure image links which have a corresponding text link with the same target are hidden. Especially if smart positioning is enabled this option can significantly reduce the initialization time.
  • Several bug fixes (for details see http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list )

Version 0.5.1

This release is a simple bugfix release which fixes the following bugs (further details see http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list ):

Version 0.5

This release includes a lot of new features. Watch the following video to get an introduction into all the new stuff...

Here the list of all new features:

  • Option to define character set for generating ids
It is possible to define its own character set for generating the ids so that the ids are no longer limited to numbers.

Attention! When using a self defined character set for ids it is not possible to open a link with Alt+<id> or to enter a id when the focus is in a form field by Ctrl+<id> as this would interfere heavily with normal shortcuts. In this case use the configurable "postfix"-key to open a link in a new tab and the newly introduced shortcut to blur the current form field.

  • Configurable URL Rules (Black/White-list)
It is now possible to configure URL specific behaviour, e.g. to disable MLB for certain webpages

  • Ids are shown before entire page is loaded
By default the ids are already shown before all images are loaded.

  • Smart positioning of ids
Ids for form elements and image links are positioned in the right upper corner of the element to minimize the impact on the page layout (configurable)

  • New options to open link in new window or Cooliris Preview
With configurable modifier combinations / post-fix keys it is now possible to open a link in a new window or even in Cooliris Previews.

  • Modifiers for open link are now configurable
The modifiers to open a link even if a text field is focused (by default "Ctrl" and the modifier to open a link in a new tab (by default "Alt"), in a new window (by default "Ctrl+Alt") or in Cooliris Previews (by default not set) are now also configurable. This enables you to restore the default behaviour of Firefox to change tabs by means of Ctrl+<Number>

  • And a lot of small other improvements...
    - Max. number of ids could be configured to avoid freezing of Firefox
    - New shortcuts for openin configuration dialog,  to add a URL specific rule,  to blur active element (for easier scrolling in FF autocomplete mode) or to block userinput for MLB.
    - New menu entry in the tools menu for MLB (could be hidden)
    - Possiblity to directly report bug and give feedback
